Q: What is the Speakers Match program?
A: The Speakers Match program links returned Peace Corps Volunteers with educators and students who want to hear about Peace Corps experiences. It is at the heart of fulfilling the Peace Corps' third goal—helping promote a better understanding of other peoples on the part of Americans.
Q: How do I request a returned Peace Corps Volunteer speaker?
A: To request a speaker, simply fill out the Speaker Request form. Once you request a speaker, World Wise Schools will provide you with a contact list of all the RPCVs in your area who may be available, and your organization then sets up the event.
Q: How can I prepare for the speaking event?
A: Be sure to communicate with your speaker. Make sure he or she knows what technologies will be available for use, the desired length of the presentation, and any other logistical issues. Let your speaker know ahead of time what kinds of things your students have been studying so these topics can be incorporated into the talk. Introduce your students to some basic information about the Peace Corps and the volunteer's country before the speaker arrives.
