Peace Corps

Enter a Bid for a
Free International Phone Call!

The Peace Corps Week program would like to offer you a special opportunity during Peace Corps Week 2008, February 25–March 3. In honor of the 47th anniversary of the Peace Corps, we will sponsor several overseas phone calls between Volunteers in the field and their Correspondence Match classrooms. Listen to a few calls from Peace Corps Week 2007.

If your class is matched with an overseas Volunteer and you're interested in participating, please do the following no later than December 15, 2007:

  • Submit a letter of interest explaining why your class correspondence with your Volunteer is important, and how you would use an overseas telephone call as an educational opportunity in your classroom.
  • Provide your contact information, including your name, school address, e-mail address, phone number, and the best time for us to call.
  • Send your submission by e-mail to pcweek@peacecorps.gov or fax it to (202) 692-1421.
  • Confirm that your class has no schedule conflicts during the week of February 25–March 3. Correspondence Match classrooms selected for calls will be notified by the end of January.

We look forward to hearing from you!

If you're not currently enrolled in the Correspondence Match program but would like to get involved, visit www.peacecorps.gov/wws/correspond.
