Return to Water in Africa

With geographic extremes such as the Karoo Desert, the snow-capped peaks of the Drakensberg, and the subtropical coast of the KwaZulu/Natal—South Africa is a diverse country. The eastern plateau region has a dry, sunny climate in the winter, and rain from October to April (sometimes, there are even hailstorms). The Western Cape has sunny summers, but one can often see snow on higher mountains during the winter. The coast becomes more hot and humid the farther one travels north.
